Borneo Rainforest Lodge (BRL) sits on the banks of the Danum River, entirely surrounded by never-logged forest — the reason it consistently ranks among Southeast Asia's top wildlife lodges.
The chalets
Three categories, all timber-built and full-board: Jungle Chalets (the standard option, forest-facing), Deluxe Chalets (river views, more space), and Premium Deluxe Chalets (the honeymoon favourite, with private outdoor tubs on the balcony overlooking river or forest). With capacity capped around 60 guests, the lodge never feels crowded — and wildlife regularly wanders through the grounds.
Dining and facilities
Meals are full-board restaurant dining with varied Asian and Western menus, plus a bar (drinks excluded from packages). After consecutive days of trekking, the in-house spa earns its keep. There's an open deck over the river for downtime between activities — orangutans have been spotted from it.

Who it suits
Couples and honeymooners, families wanting comfort, photographers who value a private walkway, and anyone for whom a proper bed and good food after a muddy trek is worth paying for. If budget is the priority, the Field Centre offers the same forest for much less.
